My name is Erich Reimers.
I'm an animator and motion design lead focused on building brands and products. I currently lead motion on the Shop creative team at Shopify, where I’ve helped shape the visual identity for both the Shop and Shopify brands, built scalable systems for global campaigns, and supported hiring for senior and lead motion roles across the org.Collaboration is at the core of how I work. I do my best in close-knit teams, helping shape ideas from the ground up into something bigger than anything one person could pull off alone. Before Shopify, I was a 2D Animation Lead at Brand New School, where I directed large international teams on projects for clients like Google.
I’m not locked into one style or pipeline. I’ve worked on product overhauls at design agencies, bounced between marketing and product motion in tech, and freelanced at top-tier commercial studios as a traditional 2D animator. That range has given me a deep appreciation for different kinds of creative thinkers and a clear point of view on what it takes to lead strong teams and make great work.
I’m into Japanese 4x4s, my chihuahua Bodhi, and high-fiving every person at my neighborhood gym.
